Resembool Rain

Edward yawned, stretching his arms out. He sat up, his legs dangling off the bed, and looked over at the small bedside table. He picked up the silver pocket-watch given to him as a dog of the military. "It's been so long..." He mumbled to himself. Rain pelted the window, oddly enough. "It was sunny yesterday..."

"Morning!" Winry called, passing the room. "Diden't think you'd ever get up, sleepy head."

"Hey Winry..." He started quietly. "Do you remember the day the day that I became a state alchemist?"

"Of course." She said, entering the room and sitting beside him. "What about it?"

He shrugged. "Me and Al swore we'd get our bodies back..." He sighed. "I was just thinking about how this job endangers you, me, and everyone else I know...do...do you think it was worth it?"

"Do you think it was?" She asked in reply. "If you think it's worth it, then it is."

He shrugged. "I'm not sure...I don't want anything to happen to you, or Al, or anyone."

She rolled her eyes a bit. "I'll be fine and you do a good job of taking care of Al."

He kept staring at the pocket-watch. He smiled, even though it was a small one, and laughed. Edward reached over to the small table and dropped it. "If you're sure..."

He stood up, and grinned. "I'm hungry," He said, returning to his normal state.
